How to check a crypto tip from TikTok or Telegram

As of Oct 22, 2026

Crypto tips spread fast – often faster than the numbers behind them. Four questions tell you whether a tip fits the data or just sounds good.

1. What exactly is being claimed?

Write the claim down in one sentence: “Coin X will hit $5”, “Coin Y is undervalued”, “we're still early”. The more specific the claim, the easier it is to check. Vague phrases like “about to explode” are a warning sign on their own.

2. Does the price target fit the market cap?

Price times circulating supply gives the market cap. For a price target, work out the market cap it would need and compare it with Bitcoin, Ethereum and the whole crypto market. If the coin would end up bigger than almost everything else, the target is very ambitious.

3. What does the past say?

How much did the coin rise within a year in earlier years – and how far did it fall? The past is not a forecast, but it shows how realistic a promise is by comparison.

4. Who profits?

Did the person buy the coin themselves? Are they paid for the promotion? Is there a referral link? None of this makes a tip wrong automatically, but it explains why it's so loud.

Faster with the Reality Check

On Kairos you paste the tip as text or a screenshot. The check puts price targets, “still early” or “scarce supply” next to live data and shows what would have happened in the past – without a buy recommendation.
